"bahala kna Lord"

Cruise controls or auto pilot in cars and planes make it easier to travel long distances.

Just like our journey through life, we can trust that our cruise control – our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, will make our way smooth.

Reflection: Is your life messed up and too complicated? Simplify it. Go to Jesus!

Prayer: Jesus, you are the wind beneath my wings that make me sour over difficult situations.

  

The tagalog phrase “bahala kna Lord” (it's all up to you) seems simple but when you think about it, it’s a prayer of full trust isn't?

We put all our troubles in God hands and trust that no matter the situation He will see and help us through.

“bahala kna Lord… take control over all our worries, anxieties, daily stress and shortcomings, may we not let all these things put us down as we keep in mind that these trials, hurts, rejections and persecutions help refine us and mold us into a beautiful person who will be pleasing to You.Amen.

Change my heart, Oh God

Our dear Household leader shook things up a bit the past HH meeting and told us to choose one song each for our worship. While perusing the pages of the Glory book, the lyrics of the song Change my Heart, Oh God caught my attention and though I do not know its tune I choose it nonetheless because the lyrics is akin to my personal prayers as I pray for guidance, grace and a clean heart.

                              
     
                         

Following Christ and embodying him is not easy - everyday is a challenge but as this song becomes my prayer may I continue the walking the right path...

and for all of this May God be Praised!!!

The most expensive Gift

Part of the kit that we have received during our CLP dedication/graduation day was a CD compilation of worship songs. I am not really one you would consider a music lover but I find my self listening to this compilation regularly and begin to 'develop' favorites partly because of the tune but mostly because of the lyrics.

One of my favorites is Your love is Extravagant by Casting Crowns.

With Christmas fast approaching am sure most of you, like me, have started scouting stores and checking out the price tags of the gifts you planned on getting friends, family members and specially our 'inaanaks'. I am sure you would agree with me on this but isn't it that we rarely go out buying gifts without any budget. Even the most extravagant person I think would set a certain ceiling on a gift's price tag but not our God.

He didn't think us unworthy despite of transgressions, no cost is too high for him because truly God's love is so extravagant that he paid the ultimate price for the greatest and most wonderful gift of our salvation.

  

                       

Life to the Full

If you had asked me a few months ago what my favorite song is – I wouldn’t be able to tell you.

While I like quite a number of songs there isn’t really one that resonates with the whole of my emotions. There hasn’t been any song that has moved and touched me so much until I heard the song Life to the Full.

During Talk 9 – Receiving the Gifts of the Holy Spirit, we were asked to go around the room and tell our co-participants that ‘the Holy Spirit is with you’. I felt happy and cheery as I made rounds, shook hands, and high fived my co-participants but as we settled back to our seats, upon hearing the first chords of the song Life to the Full I suddenly became so emotional and could not help but cry despite the song being upbeat.

I could not really find the words to express how I felt that day but in its very essence every phrase of the song echoed my sentiments exactly, erasing whatever lingering doubts I still had and strengthening my conviction to continue walking the path towards God because truly the fullness of life is in his presence and I will TAKE it NOW!
