CLP Dedication Day

A few days before our last CLP talk, our DGL sent us a message about a proposed meeting after the talk to discuss our presentation for our upcoming dedication day.

Upon reading the message my eyes zeroed in on the word presentation. Presentation did she say? oh no!!! could it be that we are required to dance or do some sort of skit for dedication day???

I am not one to 'perform' on stage - give me a pair of scissors and glue and I'd be happy in the background doing props - but perform? nuh-ah!

As it turns out, we really do have to perform and there is no escaping it and so I said 'yes' to the crucial role in the skit I am given but pushed the thought of actually performing in front of a crowd at the far corners of my mind while I silently prayed for God to give me the confidence and ability to do my part.

To get my mind off from being jittery, I concentrated on conceptualizing ideas for costumes and helping make the props we needed for our skit.

We named our group World Changer Generation in line with the theme of our skit and as we meet for practice almost everyday, our group grew closer and thru each others encouragement we found confidence.

On D-day I woke up my huge butterflies in my stomach, looking back, it was funny how we all turned to facebook chatting to cheer each other on while hiding our own anxiety.

As we waited to see which group would be performing first, I fervently prayed for us to be empowered and be given the confidence boost we needed... and by God's grace perform we did!

Yay for the World Changer Generation Group!!!

As a token of our love and appreciation for our DGL's who guided and encouraged us thru the course of the CLP, we surprised them with framed photo collages of our group. It was quite a feat to hide our gifts as we were together all the time but the surprised look on their faces told us that our stealth tactics worked!

Closing with a Lord's day celebration - our dedication day is truly one for the books. We felt so blessed, happy, loved and very much welcomed in the community.

I was still reveling in this different kind of high when I went home that I proudly told my brother about our the day's events most specially the presentation and even he couldn't believe that I danced and acted in our skit.

As we are slowly pushed out of our comfort zones we find what we are capable of and learn how to believe in, celebrate and share our God given abilities and talents and for this may God be praised!!!
