Gifts of the Holy Spirit

Halfway thru the SFC Christian Life Program we talked about the Gifts of the Holy Spirit which are:

1. The Word of Knowledge 

2. The Word of Wisdom 

3. The Gift of Prophecy 

4. The Gift of Faith 

5. The Gifts of Healings 

6. The Working of Miracles 

7. The Discerning of Spirits 

8. Different Kinds of Tongues 

9. The Interpretation of Tongues

Truth be told, having never attended Catechism classes when I was a kid (our Religion classes in grade school and high school and Theology classes in college never discussed this either) it was the first time that I heard about these gifts of the Holy Spirit and along the discussion I got kind of apprehensive and a bit scared specially when I heard about the gift of tongues - I even asked my Discussion Group Leader during our one-on-one meeting about it - I have this vague idea of a scene out of a movie where people suddenly talk in an incomprehensible manner, but I was assured by my DGL that these gifts aren't something to be scared of but something to yearn and pray for.

So I pondered on these gifts and though I wasn't able to finally decide on a specific gift to ask for come Talk 9 - Receiving the Gifts of the Holy Spirit, I knew in my heart of hearts that I wanted to ask for The Gift of Knowledge. I figured that I could put my blogging and writing to good use by sharing about my experiences and proclaiming God's glory. 

And now looking back, I realized that it was after that day that I decided to write about my CLP experience. With the sudden idea and inspiration to write could it be the Holy Spirit manifesting this gift to me without me realizing it?

I claim and believe it to be so!
